What is snagging?

Snagging is an important quality control process in construction, aimed at identifying and documenting defects or issues in a building before its final handover to the client. These defects can range from minor cosmetic problems to more significant structural issues that fall outside industry tolerances. The primary tool used in this process is a snagging report, which provides a comprehensive list of issues organized room by room. Each item in the report is accompanied by images, making it easier to describe and understand the defects. This visual and detailed documentation helps both the home buyer and the developer manage the rectification process efficiently. For buyers, a third party snagging survey ensures that all issues are clearly identified and addressed, while for developers, it streamlines the handover and defect resolution processes, enhancing overall project quality and customer satisfaction.
